World War I
World War I, originally called the Great War, lasted for a deadly 4 years from 1914 to 1918. The majority of the war was fought in Western Europe, as many of the countries involved in the war were European. During this time, many new weapons such as machine guns and tanks were introduced to war. New styles of fighting, such as trench warfare, were developed as well. Approximately 10 million soldiers died during World War I, and about 20 million were wounded. Some believed this to be the "war to end all wars", but soon found themselves wrong at the start of World War II. This website contains all the information you need to know about World War I.
